Hi, I'm Sara Kelly, Artist and Designer
of Over the Moon Graphics & Design. I have a strong background in arts and crafts, with formal schooling in jewelry design and fine art from the State University of New Paltz. My graphic design reflects my training, utilizing hand drawn images and an eclectic range of colors and layout, in non-traditional ways.
I specialize in Adobe Photoshop, and have years of experience manipulating images, creating color separations, enhancing photos and creating original artwork with the aid of a pressure sensitive tablet and wireless mouse. You also may have seen many of my logo creations and graphics done for the Cambridge Valley Chamber of Commerce along with other businesses and organizations in the area.
I also act as a troubleshooter for pre-press and technical problems that can happen (and do) in many aspects of graphic design.

It all began a long time ago, with a desire to be an artist from a very early age. During high school my teachers inspired me to use my imagination and talent in creating works of art.
I attended State University of New Paltz, majoring in Art, with emphasis on gold and silversmithing. After college I started my own business, “Fantasy Creatures”, designing and creating fabric sculptures, selling them for almost 10 years on the Craft Show circuit and wholesale to stores. At this time I began producing cloisonn’e jewelry with a unique flair, selling at shows and joining Valley Artisans Market with my jewelry.
During this period I learned how to design for clients, filling special orders that were as varied as portraits of families in fabric or jewelry with certain stones, shapes and colors. I really enjoyed the challenge of meeting and exceeding expectations.

In 1990 I was hired by The Toy Works as a Pattern Designer, which involved creating three dimensional fabric items using art from clients and licensed artists. We produced items for the Guggenheim Museum which created special challenges of taking a character from a modern art painting and making it a toy, matching the art style of the original painting. I also designed toys for Patagonia company, using their special polar fleece, for sale in their catalogs and stores and a limited edition “Teddy Roosevelt” teddy bear for The Adirondack Chamber of Commerce .

Then came computers...
Work became computer generated and I learned pre-press for silk-screened items, along with designing patterns and art layout. this “New World” sped up the processes once done by hand and made new things possible. With The Toy Works and later with Cambridge Pacific I produced custom and stock catalogs, booklets, seed packets and honed my skills as a graphic artist. Over the Moon Beads and Gifts opened in 1999, I created all the graphics, including sign painting , logos, advertisements and any-thing else needed for the store.
Through the years of working , I realized that I am very willing to tackle any design challenge, in many different mediums, paper, fabric, jewelry, airbrushing , oil painting , illustrations and of course, computers. If you have a sketch, an old photo, or just an idea that you want fixed, changed or produced, please let me try to help you. I really enjoy it!
Thank you very much for your interest.
